This module produces a written instruction to the Works to carry out a sequence of cutting operations. It acts as an authorisation to withdraw material from Stock and to cut it. Material is knocked off Stock when the document is issued. Upon completion of the Work, the document is returned and relevant information is updated into the system to indicate that the cut pieces are available for Picking.
The work must be associated with a single type of material but may refer to single or multiple Sales Orders.
The document references the Sales Order numbers, quantities and sizes of pieces required. It carries a Narrative instruction to the operative to assist in the minimisation of waste.
The implementation of the Cutting Opimisation module interfaces to the Works Order so that the computer assits in calculating how to minimise waste.
