This facility is typically required in the Super Alloys business where material at one size(say billets) needs to be sent for processing to be returned at a different size, or form, or heat treatment.
The material remains traceable to its origin and chemical analysis.
The module can also be used for converting Wide Coil to Strip, or Sheet, or for pickle and oiling processes etc.
The module produces Conversion Orders which are addressed to Sub-Contractors and give conversion instructions, quantities, prices, required-by dates and delivery addresses etc.
Multiple Sub-Contractors may be involved in a conversion and the module facilitates the planning and control of such movements.
Material losses may be sustained between operations and these can be recorded. Processing costs can be aggregated.
Material booked back into stock is valued as original material cost plus total processing costs.
