Classification System
The material Classification system is based on a seven level hierarchical system. Not all levels are required for all businesses.
Material are identified by clicking on dropdown lists, which is quick, easy,
reduces errors and leads to standardised descriptions.
Only options relevant to previous selections are shown.
This can be simplified for individual businesses but is designed to allow
pipefittings and other material to be stocked in the same system as pipe,
bar and plate.
None-standard materials (partially classified but with a free text description)
are also accommodated by the system. These are usually purchased on a 'back-to-back'
basis for a Customer requirement.
